About Hot Set

It was love at first vase… or so they say.

When Jamie and Maxwell first met, they quickly bonded over their love of BEAUTIFUL THINGS. Over the years, working in the art department, they had each amassed a vast and, we’ll just say it, downright impressive collections of props. It was a friendship built on an insatiable pursuit of the perfect prop.

It soon became clear the treasure hunting wouldn’t be stopping in either of their lifetimes and they needed to find a more suitable, permanent home for their prop family. When no amount of shelf feng shui would do justice to their ever-expanding collection, they set out to find a bigger space. They searched and searched, committed to building the prop library of their dreams. A few months later they stumbled upon the warehouse at 3015 Adeline and knew they had finally made it home. 

In 2022, they launched Hot Set Props – a prop warehouse for the Bay Area production community that supports just about any occasion you can imagine. The props at HSP are for your student film, your Super Bowl commercial, your live event, your indie porn magazine…all are welcome!

Besides being a charming home for M & J’s precious prop babies, Hot Set is a welcoming and inclusive space. Whether you’ve been in the biz for 40 years or 4 months, we want you to feel empowered to ask questions to find the props you need to make your next project shine! While you shop and envision your perfect set, we hope you help yourself to some coffee and snacks, and settle into our lounge area to flush out your ideas. We love to chat *almost* as much as we love beautiful things.
